While coaching outcomes are specific to each client, Integral Coaching programs always aim towards three broad ends:
LONG-TERM EXCELLENCE
This has two dimensions: competence and fulfillment.
- Competence is a capacity that endures.
Competence helps you achieve your goals and remains then with you, for example, speaking in a way that moves people to action. It can also open up new possibilities for your friendships, family life, and health.
- Fulfillment
is when you embrace life, when what once burdened you has been lifted.
Fulfillment is valuable because it promotes long-term commitment and superior outcomes.
SELF-CORRECTION
When we are self-correcting, we have the capacity to observe discrepancies between what we intended to happen and the actual outcomes were and then be able to bridge the gap.
SELF-GENERATION
When you self-generate you have the ability to continuously renew yourself by drawing upon learned resources from without and within. When you self-generate, the development of competence becomes not a final end state but a continuous process.
HOW DO I DO THIS?
With these principles in mind, your individual Integral Coaching program will be designed around a set of intended outcomes, that are specific to you. For example the ability to:
- Manage difficult conversations more skillfully.
- Speak in a way that moves people to action.
Focusing on outcomes is important because it gives us a clear sense of direction for the coaching program and provides a standard by which we can assess the effectiveness of the work that we do.
THE POWER OF THIS APPROACH
Integral Coaching programs provide several dynamic, powerful features:
- Focus on your development, leaving you more free, courageous and joyful.
- Customised distinctions, practices, and self-observation exercises.
- Drawing upon many traditions—cognitive science, linguistics, philosophy, psychology, spirituality, nutrition, exercise and more, which provides many avenues of insight and practice.
- Blending inquiry and advice within the coaching relationship.
